Confined steady simple shear flow of polymeric liquids

In a confined simple shear flow, the macromolecules of polymeric liquid reorient near walls so that measured viscosity decreases. For instance, in small-amplitude oscillatory real part complex decreases with confinement, and macromolecular orientation explains this. These effects oscillation have been explained analytically for rigid dumbbell suspension and, summation coefficients determined. By contrast, steady are undetermined. this paper, we determine these use them to evaluate (i) (ii) normal stress suspension. We find zero-shear first decrease confinement. further dimensionless curve increases confinement coefficient light then greater confirm our theory, at low by comparing new measurements polystyrene solution.
